All who repent of their sins, are in love and charity with
their neighbors, and intend to lead a Christian life are welcome at the Lord’s Table for Holy Communion. We commune in the presence of Christ via intinction,
an ancient practice involving dipping bread into a common cup before
reception. Those having health concerns
are invited to receive the cup spiritually by receiving the bread and standing
prayerfully before the cup while the words “The Blood of Christ” or “The cup of
salvation” are uttered. Prayers after
reception of the elements may be offered at the chancel rail or in the pew.
