* Processional

* Call to Worship (based on Psalm 116:1-9)

            L: I love the Lord, because he has heard my voice and supplications.

            P: God has inclined God’s ear to me.

            L: I will call on God all day long.

            P: The snares of death encompassed me;

            L: the pangs of Sheol laid hold on me

            P: I suffered distress and anguish.

            L: Then I called on the name of the Lord:

            P: Oh Lord, please save my life!

            L: Gracious is the Lord; our God is merciful.

            P: The Lord protects the simple; when I was brought low, he    saved me.

            L: Return, O my soul, to your rest, for the Lord has dealt bountifully          with you.

            P: For you have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from     tears, my feet from stumbling.

            L: I walk before the Lord in the land of the living. Amen.

Questions for the day:

  1. Can you describe a time prayer changed your life?
  2. What might it mean for you to pray “God, what do you want me to do with my time, talent, and treasure”?
  3. Can you recall a time God was calling you, but you were too afraid to say “yes”?
  4. Can you recall a time when you stepped out in faith, in spite of fear? What happened?
